Alex Gabbi, Founding Partner, Global Innovation Village - and former Arrow Electronics GM - will share his insight on whether startups present tremendous sales opportunities - or huge time sinks with little to no returns. Alex will make the case for crafting a structured approach to mining startups and, as a result, increase the selling ROI. Learn the different roles that incubators, accelerators, angel investors and venture capitalists play in the startup community. Over the course of his 20+ year career, Alex has planned, funded, and successfully launched five start-ups in the consulting, enterprise software, hardware and consumer product spaces.
Join the local electronics industry community for an evening of unique networking and education. To register for the dinner meeting, visit the ECIA website. Attendees can look forward to learning more about both associations and discuss the local business climate with their peers.
The Regional Series is generously sponsored by Avnet, Model N and the TTI Family of companies: Mouser Electronics, Sager Electronics and TTI, Inc.
The 81-year-old Electronics Representatives Association (ERA) is the international trade organization for professional field sales companies in the global electronics industries and manufacturers who go to market through representative firms. It is the mission of ERA to support the professional field sales function through programs and activities that educate, inform and advocate for manufacturers’ representatives and the principals they represent. ERA member representative firms (often called “reps”) provide field sales services on an exclusive basis to manufacturers of related (but non-competing) products in a defined territory. For more information about ERA go to era.org.
The Electronic Components Industry Association (ECIA) is made up of the leading electronic component manufacturers, their manufacturer representatives and authorized distributors. ECIA members share a common goal of promoting and improving the business environment for the authorized sale of electronic components to the end customer. Comprised of a broad array of leaders and professionals representing all phases of the electronics components supply chain, ECIA is where business optimization, product authentication and industry advocacy come together. ECIA members develop industry guidelines and technical standards, as well as generate critical business intelligence. For more information, visit www.ecianow.org or call 678-393-9990.
